As you might have noticed if you are a regular reader of my blog, I am obsessed with journals and planners. There is a huge mental benefit to journals and planners, and this is a major reason why I have always been drawn to them. Plus, they are just super fun to create and use! Almost every planner that I create comes from a need that I have for it, so I use them as well as make them.
Since the mental benefits of journals and planners is universal, this was something I knew would be a good fit for my audience. Anyone who is interested in holistic health knows the importance of mental health (or at least you will soon!). See my most comprehensive holistic health planner here.

Clutter Causes Stress and Anxiety
One of the biggest causes of stress and anxiety is a cluttered mind. A cluttered mind not only leads to stress and anxiety but also analysis paralysis, procrastination, feelings of overwhelm, and a general lack of inner peace. A cluttered mind leads to a cluttered environment. Likewise, a clutter-free environment leads to a clutter-free mind. This is why minimalists are generally happier than packrats, hoarders, and people addicted to shopping.
You can just feel the difference in your mood when you walk into a messy cluttered space as opposed to a simple uncluttered space. If you were going to a therapy or healing session of any kind, you would rather be in a room with maybe one table, a few plants, and minimal furniture, right?
How Journals and Planners Can Improve Your Life
Journals and planners can bring great improvement to your life. Everyone can relate to the feeling of being overwhelmed, whether it is by physical junk laying around or mental junk floating in your mind. I’m sure you have gone to bed after a crazy day and laid awake for hours trying to process the day or gone over your to-do list in your head hoping you could remember everything the next day.
Planners can help you actually get stuff done and achieve your goals. Everyone knows that change is hard, so we need all the help we can get. Once you are actually ready to change, having a planner will greatly increase your chances of success.
Journals in particular are therapeutic, helping you to process emotions in a healthy way. Doing this right before bed is the best way to end your day and prime yourself for sleep. So they have a double whammy benefit for your mental and emotional health.
I am such a strong proponent of journaling and using planners that I often say if you do any one thing to improve your health, make it the act of writing in a journal and/or a planner. It is the perfect first step to transforming your life into a more positive healthier one.
It is, however, crucial to use them correctly. Don’t make these 4 common daily planner mistakes!
Learn How To Create a Journaling Practice
I have an online course on how to create a journaling practice to improve all areas of your life. It’s called Journaling For Beginners, and it’s on Udemy. It includes everything you need to learn all about journaling and get started today!
Journals and Planners For Every Need
I sell journals, planners, and other printable goodies in my Etsy shop. I am adding new journals and planners regularly, usually once a week. I have digital ones for those of you who prefer to keep things digitally to save space and paper, and I also have printable ones for those of you who prefer keeping papers in binders, clipboards, or folders. This is by far my preferred method. In fact, I believe printables are the key to creating a lifestyle transformation.
I have a quick tutorial video here to show you exactly how I use them:
A good quality clipboard makes using printables fun! I have a few but this one is by far my favorite one! It’s got a cover so it opens like a book! It’s a pretty green color, and it’s sturdy so it will last me probably the rest of my life! If you want one for yourself, the link below will take you right to Amazon! (affiliate link-thank you!)
The image below will take you right to my Etsy shop if you are interested in checking out my journals and planners!
And if you really want more control with what is on your planners and journals, you can create them yourself! Since I have been making these for over a year and a half now, I decided to put out an online course teaching others how to make these. The program I use is Powerpoint, so that is what you will learn in the course. To check it out, click on the image below:
